I find it funny how many people, with great intentions, tell me that I should try to make my company seem like a "big" company with dozens of employees and a huge office. In many industries, this would be great advice but in the service industry, focused on small businesses, it just doesn't make sense for me.

Over the years, I have found that most clients appreciate that I'm not just another big firm. While I do have people work with me in certain situations, for all intensive purposes my business is me which means a few important things to my clients:

 - I understand the challenges that are specific to small businesses and I have personally dealt with many of the same frustrations that my clients are facing. I know what it's like to work 18 hours days and I appreciate the energy that it takes to keep up with it all.

 - I am hands-on with all of my clients as I do all (or at least the vast majority) of the work...when you call, I will be the one on the other end of the phone; when you need something done, I will be the one doing it; and when you need a quick answer, I will be able to get it for you because I won't have to "review your file" to see what someone else was working on.

 - I am flexible and would be happy to meet with you on Saturday morning, if that's the time you have available. In many cases, clients email me with some change they need at 9 p.m. and I am able to get it done that night. I work with my clients without restrictions such as office hours and company policy.

 - I don't have much overhead so I don't have to charge a lot for the time I invest in my clients. I have made it my mission to find a way to help as many people as possible and I will find a way to make my services accessible and affordable to you.

 - I fully control access to confidential information. Unlike large firms, where dozens of people can access electronic or hard-copy files, your information stays secure with me and you never need to worry about who has access to sensitive information.
